HybridCluster
Description
Not the usual server virtualisation but a way to optimise hosted web applications to get the best performances and reliability. By using Linux Containers each component of your application can be scaled and replicated on different servers or even datacentres.
It's based on BSD (I know, we prefer Linux) and uses ZFS for reliability and scalability.
Pro
It saves a lot of resources, especially when running large number of web sites or web applications, by running streamlined containers instead of full virtualised OSes.
Cons
For on site installations you may need BSD skills.
If your web applications rely also on some binary executables you'll have to recompile them or run them on a separate servers. This is not necessarily a bad thing as most of the hits are generally managed by the LAMP stack on HybridCluster.
